What to Expect on Your First Visit

As part of our commitment to excellence and preventative care, every new patient receives:

• Doppler ultrasound assessment to check blood flow to the feet
• If you are diabetic, a comprehensive diabetic foot screening, which includes testing for:
  • Neurological testing for sensation and nerve health
  • Vascular assessment: This is to look at your circulation or blood flow in your lower limbs including toe pressures.
  • Foot structure and skin condition to assess risk of heightened pressure areas that can lead to mechanical overload and possible wound development.
  • Footwear assessment, adequate size and shape.  Type of footwear for exercise, work and leisure.This screening provides a baseline for future comparisons, done every 6 or 12 months depending on your risk category for diabetic foot complications.

EPC Medicare referrals under a Chronic Disease Management Plan attract a rebate of $61.80 per eligible visit
